Regular swim helps to improves cardio vascular fitness, builds muscle strength and endurance, which means it can serve as a cross trainer which you use to workout at the gym. It is also very flexible as you can swim before or after your gym workout. Use the pool before the gym for a warm up session and after the gym to relax your body and mind.
You do group sessions in the pool, have some sort of games or exercise regime in a group, or may be you can throw a coin in the pool and have a competition on who gets it first. This activity not only keeps you fit but also keeps it social and fun.
