Summer will hopefully bring more warm weather to these shores, and if it does, you might be considering buying a swimming pool to keep yourself cool. But before you rush out and go buy one, you should consider these following things:

  • Space: The main thing to consider. Does your home have the room for a swimming pool? Above ground swimming pools will not be custom built, so you’ll get the size restrictions of them so that you can check that they fit into your garden. The other method if you dont have that much room is to look at a smaller pool -or a paddling pool. Do you really want to get rid of all that garden space for a swimming pool? You could start to miss having that extra room in about a month or two.
  • Money: How much is it going to cost? While not as expensive as they used to be, Swimming pools still costs a fair bit and in a world where they economy is terrbile are they worth buying. Having an above ground one will be cheaper than having your garden dug up for a custom sized swimming pool, plus then there is all the accessories to consider, and how much will it cost to maintain it?
  • Winter time. When it starts getting cold again in september, what equipment is essential for keeping your pool safe from the winter elements. The water will need draining and the pool will need a cover to ensure it is protected from the weather. The cold weather can be very damaging, and you need to ensure that your pool will be okay once you come to use your swimming pool again next summer
  • Pool Accessories. What will you need to buy for your pool to function properly? Swimming pool heaters, the chemicals to keep the water clean, pumps, pool filters -some of this stuff you need to have to maintain your pool.
