I used to think that the question of which is better, film or digital, had long since been resolved. Apparently not, because it still comes up from time to time in my photography workshops. In all honesty, there are still a few areas where film is arguably better than digital. So here are ten measures that should be important to any shooter. Let’s put the two formats to the test!

So there you have it. Out of ten important measures, digital wins seven, film wins two and the last measure ends in a tie.

Some people think that, because I teach photography, I’m beyond the point of learning. Or that some things are “too basic” for me to learn. That’s absurd.

It is impossible to ever know everything. Also, I speak from experience when I say that skills deteriorate when left unused.
