Let’s Play Vinnie Vole’s Existential Nightmare

Posted on June 29, 2010

WARNING: Mature themes and horrible tape-loading sounds! Viewer discretion is advised! By request, it's the Spectrum's premier game simulating a vole's existential existence in an enclosed room. Fun for no whole families! EDIT: When I made this video, I was under the impression that this was a real game. However, this was originally a game that didn't exist which was profiled on Stuart Ashen's wonderfully wry (as most British comedy is) video series "Ashen's Tech Dump." This was only turned into an actual Spectrum tape file after the fake game was profiled on Ashen's show, so if you enjoyed this video (and perhaps even if you didn't), take a look at Mr. Ashen's other fine entertainment: www.youtube.com

Transform Your Mind, Change Your Brain

Google Tech Talk September 23, 2009 ABSTRACT Presented by Richard J. Davidson In this talk, Richard J. Davidson will explore recent scientific research on the neuroscience of positive human qualities and how they can be cultivated through contemplative practice. Distinctions among different forms of contemplative practices will be introduced and they will be shown to have different neural and behavioral consequences, as well as important consequences for physical health in both long-term and novice practitioners. New research also shows that meditation-based interventions delivered online can produce behavioral and neural changes. Collectively, this body of research indicates that we can cultivate adaptive neural changes and strengthen positive human qualities through systematic mental practice.

Badgers at the Barn Owl Centre

Posted on June 29, 2010

Badgers feeding on peanuts and dogfood. I have been feeding these badgers for about two months now and they are getting quite close. Towards the end of this clip there are three adult badgers within a metre of where I'm knelt. I am in a hide with a camo net door between me and the animals.Very rewarding and relaxing to sit and watch these wonderful animals.
