Really beautiful on the stove. The shining, sloping sides add a very elegant and sophisticated air. Extremely quick and even heating. Handles stay cool. Just all around a great cookset! We almost didnt get it for 2 concerns: we were concerned the handles would get too hot (they stay cool!) and difficult cleaning ..we were looking for non-stick (these still clean quick and easy with a swipe of a brillo pad). We've since realized that non-stick would wear out in 5-7 years but without it...these should last almost forever! Great purchase.

I almost did not buy this cookware set because of the reviews that mentioned leaking rivets. But here's the real deal.

The rivets that attach the handles to the pans are located high on the sides of the pans. If you fill a pot clear up to the rivets, you'll have lots of splashes and spatters as you cook and stir. The easy solution? Use a bigger pot! No spatters, and no leaks.

Out of curiosity, when I was washing mine prior to use I did fill them up over the rivets, and no leaks on my set.

So, a little more on the set in general. I purchased this as a replacement for my 35 year old Revereware, which was wobbly on my new glass induction stove. Also wanted to get rid of the nonstick stuff for health reasons. This is perfect, very stable, great heat conduction, glass lids fit well and make it easy to monitor cooking. A joy to use, and on top of that they look gorgeous.

My suggestion is to notice the cooking hints in these reviews, and to google "cooking with stainless steel cookware" for more hints. With a few minor tweaks to my cooking techniques (which admittedly had gotten sloppy over the years), clean up is a breeze. The basics: heat it dry on 5 for 5 minutes, add butter or oil to hot pan, turn the heat down to 3 and cook more slowly than you may have been doing. Perfect eggs, veggies, grilled cheese sandwiches etc. Then when you're putting the meal on the table, let the pans cool a bit, give a quick swish with a nylon scrubbie, and add warm soapy water before you sit down to eat. After the meal, they clean as easily as nonstick cookware. So easy!

I also ordered the 1.75 qt pot and 4.75 qt pan with helper handle, and these will probably get more use than some of the items in the 10 piece set.

Berndes Coquere 16 Piece Induction Cookware Set Reviews

This cookware does work on induction cooktops. Before I bought it I went to the manufacturer's website a watched a video on this line and it indicated that even though it was cast aluminum there is a diffuser plate in the bottom that allows it to be used on induction cooktops as well as others. So I went ahead and bought it and they work beautifully on my induction stovetop. They have a nice weight on them, which I love, and the price is decent considering that for non-stick induction cookware they tend to be abhorently expensive.

I cannot comment on the performance of the cookware but it seems to be rated highly. I am unlikely however to purchase it, because it looks sooo cheap in person. It looks like a bunch of cheap plastic, and although it appears to be made in N. America, it looks like a cheap Chinese knockoff. Because of that, I don't have confidence that even if it does perform well (I doubt highly that i could perform better than similarly priced cookware such as Farberware Millennium, etc.), i cannot imagine it would last long. I may be a cookware snob, but really I expected (and wanted) so much better for this reasonably priced non-Asian produced induction cookware line.

I purchased this set because I was replacing my 16 year old radiant cooktop with a new induction cooktop and most of my older cookware was not induction capable.

I decided that these were a reasonable alternative to the more expensive All Clad cookware and, at this price, if they didn't work out well I could always afford to replace them.

I used them originally with the old radiant cooktop and was quite impressed with how quickly they heated, how well the cooked, and how easy they were to clean. I had expected stainless steel to be hard to clean but these are not. At times I will need to soak them for an hour or so prior to cleaning but most of the time that is not necessary. So far we have used regular dishwashing liquid to clean them.

I'm even more impressed with their performance with my new GE induction cooktop and I particularly like the interior volume markings. It is amazing how I can "titrate" the level of simmering/bubbling/boiling with the combination of the induction cooktop and this cookware.

In short, these are very cost effective, functional, and attractive.

The ergonomic handles make these pots and pans much better than any other similar pots and pans available. The handles really do stay cool, and they make the pans a lot easier to lift and move. These pans heat very evenly. They do not have a nonstick surface, a feature I prefer. I have a glass cook top stove and usually use a medium low setting for foods that are cooked without water. Baking soda works well for cleaning any residue that sticks to the pan when a higher heat is used. I never use scratchy pads or commercial scouring powders to clean these pans, just baking soda on a dish cloth or liquid dish detergent and warm water. The lids are very convenient, both to use and to store. I prefer these metal lids to the glass lids that come with many pans.

When I bought my new induction cooktop, I knew that all my great Berndes SignoCast nonstick cookware would not work on it. Not to worry! The Berndes Coquere line is designed for use on induction. I ordered the 10-piece set. Now that I have been using it for about a month, I can say that I am very happy with its heft and its overall feel (the handles are different than the SignoCast)- it is quite comparable to the SignoCast in that regard. I am especially pleased with the way it (and the induction cooktop) cooks. The large 11" saute pan is a really convenient size and shape. The only problem is that the saucepans and the stock pot (dutch oven) in the set are on the small side. Be sure you are aware of their capacities when you order. I also got a veggie wok (directly from Berndes as it was not available on Amazon) and it was just that - a considerably smaller wok than the full size Swiss Diamond nonstick I had to abandon for the sake of induction. All in all the set was a great purchase for a terrific Amazon price. It is great to know that I didn't have to give up a product I had been so happy with for so many years.

I have used All-Clad since the early 1980's and consider it the very best, and best for the money, too, as it lasts forever, the company will simply replace any that you complain about (the LTD black surface wore off some after 15 years, which is why I switched to the stainless steel outside and inside and some copper outside versions (Copper Chef, by All-Clad Co.) and they sent a new one!). I have boiled over milk on high and it never scorched! The bottom of the pan was not even tan, much less any burned milk! That was a first for any pan for me! The Olympic Cooking Team uses these pans, by the way. And they look good on a rack, too.

I am very pleased with my set of All-Clad stainless cookware. The construction is superior to any other set I have ever owned. One of the nice things about the cookware is how cool the handles stay after being on the burner for an extended period of time. I was really surprised by that. I figured that since the handles were stainless steel they would get really hot but that is not the case. I have also found that the cookware heats up much more evenly than my old cookware. That really does help to reduce cooking time. While it may seem a bit pricey, this set should last many years if taken care of. My Mom always told me to buy the best quality item that I could and it will save money in the long run. She was right.....as usual. If you love to cook you will enjoy this set.

This interface disk worked great when boiling water in my NON-magnetic tea kettle... And it DOES let you use just about ANY pot or pan you own on an induction cooktop. BUT, for it's simple design and manufacturing, the price is DOUBLE what it should be !!!!!! Go ahead, bite the bullet.. what else can you do to be able to use your existing pots and pans ?? By the way, 4 cups of water boiled 30 seconds FASTER using this AND the Burton induction cooktop, than it did on my smooth glass cooktop on high ! I just HAD TO compare the two !!!!

This was purchased with an induction cooktop, It is well made and does what it is supposed to do. The money is better invested in induction compatabile cookware. We found dirt cheap cookware at TJMAX for less than the purchase price of this device. If you have a pot or pan you cannot live without then buy it. It's just another item you need to clean after cooking. The induction cookware heats so fast it makes cookware used with this seem like cooking in the dark ages.
