Men Can Look Great With Our 5 Easy Grooming Tips
Written by admin on July 7th, 2009The days when men who paid attention to their appearance were considered effeminate are long gone. Today’s metrosexual man wants to look healthy, handsome and well groomed.
Even today’s fashion for dishevelled hair, an unshaven face and crumpled clothes, straight from the dryer, takes some preparation to look good. Here are five easy-to-follow tips that will help any man to look as good as he can.
Face
Your face is, very much, who you are. It is constantly exposed to the air, weather, pollutants and abuse. It is important to give it some particular attention.
Get to know your facial skin type. Most men have a mixture of skin types on their faces, sometimes called combination skin. Noses can, typically, be quite oily whereas the chin and neck can often be quite dry. Always use a gentle soap to wash your face, not an aggressive detergent. If you know that your skin is sensitive always choose a soap that is fragrance and colouring free. Dry your face by dabbing with a clean towel and apply a good moisturiser that cotains UV protection.
Routine shaving can be very damaging to the facial skin. Try shaving after you’ve had a shower as this will soften your beard and make shaving much easier. Once you’ve shaved don’t splash any alcohol based aftershave all over your face. Choose a soothing after-shaving balm to calm and moisturise your chin skin.
Hair
The trick with hair is to choose a style that suits your face and your hair type. If you are going bald don’t go for a comb-over, they’re always a mistake. This is never a good look. Visit a good hair stylist and get your hair cut fashionably short. Take a look at any celebrities or TV personalities who have similar hair and looks as you and then copy their hair style. But remember, mullets are never a good idea and pony tails only look good on ponies.
Don’t bake your hair dry using a hair dryer. It’s always better to let hair dry as naturally as possible. Try using a little wax or gel and experiment to find a product that you like.
Teeth
A clean, white smile is always attractive. Have you ever notices how all Hollywood actors and TV personalities have glowing white teeth. Nothing is guaranteed to age you more than beige, stained teeth. Visit your dentist often and treat yourself to a little gentle teeth whitening.
Eyes
A man’s eyes need special attention. The skin around the eyes is much thinner than the skin elsewhere on the face and it needs special attention. There are some very effective skin care products that are designed to reduce puffiness and lessen the appearance of lines around the eyes so why not treat yourself? You might also like to occasionally use some eye brightening eye drops to give your eyes an appealing twinkle.
Lifestyle
Looking good really means looking after yourself. Look at your diet, your exercise regime, your bad habits and the stresses in your life. Try to get plenty of sleep, plenty of fresh air, plenty of water and a healthy diet. Remember that it isn’t unmanly to look after your appearance so why not treat yourself to a few mens skin care products that you’ll actually use. Paying attention to these basic aspects of your lifestyle can work wonders for the way that you look.
