This was a quality product, at appeared to be made very well and would have made life easier with moving the speaker around where it was needed; however it was not compatible with my laptop. That may have been a problem with the laptop itself as it has been sent back for repair shortly after. I might could have gotten it to work if I had kept at it. The company was very easy to work with to return the speaker and get a refund.

JBL mobile speaker goes wireless.
This model uses JBL branding, and the sound is good as other JBL speakers for iPod.
It supports wireless headphones mode, works perfectly with TP2 and Pharos Traveler 137, music is rather loud and rich…comparable with other JBL portable speakers.
It runs with either AC adapter (included) or 4 AA batteries (I use NiMH batteries), it runs rather well with NiMH batteries, but it’s difficult to insert, especially the bottom row, that’s why I give 4 stars, it plays at least 4 hours with NiHM batteries (I don’t have enough time to test)
It also has a 3.5mm audio input, which you can plug in CD player.
Wish the unit has stereo widening because 4 speakers are put too close, but what do you expect a speaker with 2x discman size?

I bought two of these for one of our site offices where we have two employees. They use this as a speakerphone for their iPhone 4′s. Paring was easy. It will play music from your phone by pushing the play button. The next/prev does not work, however. And the music can be controlled from the iPhone itself. The audio is great with 4 mini JBL speakers. A smart choice made by Motorola. Runs off 4 AA’s which is nice as then you can use it anywhere. Requires IOS 4.0.1 to work with all the features. I bought one for me personally after setting these up for our office.

I use my iPhone a lot around the house. What I really wanted was a portable bluetooth speaker that could fill a room with sound and have a built in rechargeable battery. I just wasn’t able to find that, or I didn’t look hard enough. I decided to get this Motorola EQ7 and just use some rechargeable AA that I already have.
I often go to sleep with my iPhone playing a podcast or something on my night stand. Last night I did this with the EQ7 and it was so weird hearing something in good quality. The system definitely fits the bill for filling a room with quality sound. I played some music on it last night. You’re not going to have a party with this as your system, but it’s pretty good for just hanging out.
Things I don’t like are the units size. It is bigger than I thought it would be. It isn’t huge, but not as small as I thought. I also really wish the thing had a built in battery. I’d love to plug it in by my bed at night to charge and then carry it around the house during the day where I need it. To make it worse, I found it really awkward getting the AA batteries into the thing. Each battery has the standard spring to hold it in place. The springs for the top 2 batteries make it hard to get the bottom 2 batteries in.

I’ve bought and returned several bluetooth speakers on Amazon… hands down the EQ7 is the best in quality (sound and materials). I primarily use it in the car, but I also take it into meetings and use it as a speakerphone for conference call. It also work great outdoors at BBQs and picnics. My only complain would be that on occasion, the connection drops (on calls) but I feel like it’s more an issue with the host device or the bluetooth tech itself.
