When using lavender as a natural remedy for acne, you can dot it on the affected area with a cotton swab at least two to three times a day.

Burdock – The root of this plant promotes sweating and urinating when taken internally. Although the roots, leaves, and seeds can be used medicinally, you would most likely only see the root used in commercially prepared medicines. Many cultures use this plant for food because it is rich in minerals. As a natural treatment for acne, drink up to four cups of burdock tea daily, or you can take two 500-milligram capsules three times a day. Burdock tea can also be used as a face wash. After making the tea, let it cool then apply to the affected area of the skin. Rinse with cool water when done.

Dandelion – Dandelion helps the body rid itself of unwanted waste and bacteria similar to burdock. It is also a great plant for people with liver problems, because it helps the liver get rid of toxins and excess hormones that the body does not need such as androgen that is known to cause breakouts. The leaves of dandelion are loaded with vitamins and minerals that help keep the skin healthy. As a treatment for acne, use the leaves to make tea, or you can take two 500 milligram capsules three times daily.

Calendula – This herb is a natural herbal remedy for many skin ailments. The orange petals of this plant are anti-inflammatory and antibacterial in nature. This is why calendula is an ideal herbal remedy for acne. To use as a remedy for acne, make a tea by steeping one teaspoon of dried flowers in one cup of hot water. Additionally, you can use the tea after it is cooled as a face wash.
